Our light and airy whipped shea body butter delivers a high concentration of nourishing fatty acids and vitamins to help skin feel soft, smooth, and moisturized. Our suppliers are dedicated to keeping our products 100% natural and free of harmful synthetic chemicals. They do not use synthetic stabilizers. As a result, our delicate natural body balms, which are packaged in amber glass jars, become sensitive to temperature changes. Warm weather results in our body balms to either soften or even melt in transit as they sit in warm mailboxes and trucks.
Melting is a natural reaction to heat and we have no control over the conditions during transit or delivery. This is the same issues as companies who make and ship fine chocolates during summer months, or even raw fresh pressed juices.
WHAT TO DO ABOUT MELTING
On sunny or warm days it is best to refrigerate BEFORE opening the jars. If you open items, to check if melting has occurred, they may spill out and make a mess!
**The quality and healing properties of our products are not affected by melting.**
Place it in the refrigerator. The melting will not affect the quality of the whipped butter as a great moisturiser, but the whipped consistency will change.
Whipping adds tiny air bubbles (just like whipping cream) that increase the size, lightens the density and changes the texture, making the butter light, white and fluffy. If a whipped product melts, the air bubbles are collapsed, so the volume is decreased. So although the jar was filled to the top, if the butter melts, there will be less volume in the container. The container may actually look half full and the color may change to a dark oil colour.
We have had customers scoop out the butter and whip it back up with an electric whisk beater. The butter has to be very cold for this to work.
Overall, during the spring and summer seasons, we highly suggest for you to order our whipped tallows &/or body balms to be delivered to an address where items will NOT sit in the heat for long periods of time. We CANNOT accept full refunds or returns and we DO NOT apply refunds for products left over night, or outside to melt.

Important to note: As with all of our tallow products, they are all handcrafted, using only natural ingredients and no preservatives/no harsh stabilizers. No two cows are alike. While we source from a local farmer who raises them on open pastures, antibiotic-free, grass fed, no-gmos, there can still be slight differences and variations between batches of tallow. Know that the beneficial* properties within tallow remain the same with every single jar and are not altered.
